Swirl Diffusers

Swirl diffusers are made of aluminum or galvanized sheets with electrostatic powder coating in circular or quadrangle types which are mostly used to supply air. Plenum boxes are utilized to increase the static pressure and achieve even air distribution through these diffusers. Moreover, in some applications such as cleanroom air handling systems swirl diffusers are mounted onto filter boxes. Air is supplied in a swirling pattern due to the shape of the vanes and the special design of the radial arrangement. This pattern ensures that supply air mixes rapidly and fast with the room air in comparison with other airflow patterns. As a result, this phenomenon makes swirl diffusers the best choice for environments with high comfort sensitivity criteria. In addition, the high induction ratio results in lower draft and turbulency in a ventilated area.

Installation

These diffusers are mounted into the suspended ceilings by screws like other diffusers. To transfer the weight of the diffuser and its plenum box to the concrete ceiling,  installation is done by threaded rods and L shape clamps. Additionally, for mounting swirl diffusers into tiled ceilings the diffuser’s dimension is set equal to each tile which causes the device to be positioned at the same level of the ceiling. These swirl diffusers are suitable to use in ceilings with heights from 2.5 to 4m.
