Elastomeric insulation is one of the closed thermal insulations produced by synthetic rubber. Moreover, these kinds of insulations are extensively used in the HVAC industry and construction facilities. These insulations are either from acrylonitrile butadiene rubber or ethylene propylene diene monomer. Furthermore, the used materials are chosen based on the type of application, installing place, and improved resistance needed. On the other hand, due to the closed-cell structure, these products are air and steam resistant. In addition, compared to open-cell insulation such as fiberglass and rock wool, their thermal conductivity would not change due to density drop. These insulations are produced in sheet, roll, and pipe depending on the need an aluminum coating is used to increase radiation, mechanical and chemical resistance.
